contact copyright Legal Information & Copyrights ©All the graphics you see on these pages are my own orignal works, with the exception of the UK Coat of Arms graphics (both the small, stylized one and the full-sized color one). Both of those are used in in accordance with international copyright laws as far as I am aware. Also excepted are the graphics for rings to which this site belongs. Such graphics are owned by their respective creators, who retain their rights. They are used by permission. The rest of the graphics are, indeed, mine and wholly original, and are Copyright © Bonni Hall, 2000-2002. No unauthorised use or reproduction of any original graphics permitted without express permission of the artist, Bonni Hall. All rights reserved. NOTE: These images are (invisibly) digitally watermarked with copyright information and other legal protections (see the Digimarc website for more information). PLEASE DO NOT take them or use them elsewhere, distribute them, "share" them, or otherwise mess with them. Normally I don't put such blatant and obvious statements on my websites, but this site is particularly prone to theft by people who think it's okay to snatch my digital artwork without so much as a by-your-leave. Unless otherwise noted (such as an attributed poem or quote), all content and presentation of material is Copyright © Bonni Hall, 1994-2008. No unauthorised use of original material or content without permission of the page author, Bonni Hall. All rights reserved. All quoted materials are used, as far as I am aware, within the bounds of international copyright laws and regulations. If you would like to reprint or repost one of my original essays or share something you find here, please ask. Despite my somewhat stern copyright notice page, I'm actually generally pleasant to deal with, and I've given consent for my things to be reposted, real aloud, and used for personal projects on several occasions (with proper attribution and a notice that it is "used by permission"). It does depend on the project, but I can be pretty flexible if approached politely. Permission is, of course, granted if you would like to quote portions of this material in a written report for a school research project. People occasionally write to me asking if this is okay, and it certainly is, so long as you give the proper credit (which, of course, you should be doing anyway in a report, eh?). I will NOT give you permission to copy my entire website, however. Don't even ask. I spent a lot of time designing this site and the images (that unicorn is 100% original and unique and built entirely from pixels, just as an example), and it's not for distribution. If you're really desperate for some unicorn graphics, visit my design site and look at some of the linkware there or just plain hire me to make you a set of your very own (I promise, I'm affordable). And aside from the graphics issue, I've also more than once had people just basically steal a huge portion of my written content, sometimes even including the HTML code. This is extremely annoying, to say the least. These unicorn pages, especially, seem to get lots of stuff lifted from them. I'm glad people like my work, and I like to share it, which is why I put it online. However, plagiarism and copyright violation are never cool. I do tend to do more than get annoyed when people steal my stuff. You see, since I make web pages and digital art on a professional basis, I do take steps to prevent people from violating my copyright (digital watermarks, annoying scripts, weird stuff in the .htaccess file, logging IP addresses, etc.). I have also been known to get accounts yanked for copyright violation (but really, it rarely comes to that; mostly I ask people to remove something and they do). And yes, I know I sound really irritable and cranky and all that, but honestly, I work hard at making nice pages to share with people and I take pleasure in doing it. I think I have a right to get ticked off when people rip me off. Plagerism is plagiarism, and copyright violation is illegal, and just because something is easy to get doesn't mean it's yours to take. So please, don't make me run you through with my horn, okay? Thanks. If you'd like to learn more about copyright laws and the internet, have a look at the copyright page on the main domain, which has lots of great links to all kinds of good information. And once again, I absolutely promise I'm not mean. I'm just an artist, writer, and copyright holder with a bit of an attitude after having been ripped off and jerked around one time too many... I do know that most people are honorable and decent and want to do the right thing. new about
